Myrtle Beach

This was the best and most fun vacation we have been on since having kids. We took a bus from South Bend to Chicago (which I would not recommend with kids), then flew to Myrtle Beach. The girls LOVED being on the airplane but had a hard time sitting still after being on a bus for 4 hours. Everyone commented on how good and quiet the girls were. That made me happy. We were there 5 days but the first and last were travel days, so really it was a short but WONDERFUL 3 days of vacation. The first was warm but rainy. So we decided to visit an aquarium and walk around some shops. We ate amazing seafood almost everyday too. The next 2 days were BeAuTiFuL! The girls were always up at least by 7 so we were down at the beach by 9 for sure. After a few hours we would move to the pools until lunch, then naps, pool some more, supper, and then fun time in the hotel room. The girls were great! They loved it and didn't want to leave. I love hearing them tell people about our vacation. Eva gets all animated about the ocean; trying to explain how she would run away and scream when the waves came. Haddee always brings up the kiddie pool. That was her favorite part for sure. She felt safe so she could have fun. Scott and I also had time to just relax. We loved sitting out on the balcony that overlooked the ocean. We had time to read and even got to watch a few cubs games on tv. :) The afternoons while the girls were sleeping Scott stayed in the room with them and I got to go lay down by the pool. I haven't done that in YEARS! It felt so great. I came home a different woman. Everyone needs vacation! Even Scott was saying we really need to do that more often.

My Birthday Girl

I was going to post pictures from our awesome vacation but haven't gotten around to it. And I can't dedicate the post today to that because May 13 is my sweet little girl's birthday. Eva Rose is 2 today! She was greeted this morning with a birthday song and special breakfast from Scott, Haddee, and me. Then me and the girls spent the day with friends, a trip to the library, lunch at McDonalds, some presents and cookies from KP, lots of phone calls from family and friends and then Uncle Reggie and Aunt Arica joined us here for supper and a movie. I think she enjoyed her day! We will have a family party for her on Monday. Here are some pics from our day and from celebrating with Scott's family last weekend.
